Position Details
  • Title: Lead AV Technician - Buffalo
  • Department: Operations
  • Reports To: Project Manager or Account Executive
Position Purpose and Objectives

This position is responsible for directing and overseeing a team of technicians for the installation of hardware components of audio-visual systems, ensuring all targets are met. It reports to a Project Manager and supports the mission of a "Best in Class" sales and AV integration program. The Lead AV Technician will work independently to coordinate, receive, inventory, assemble, and install AV equipment on job sites, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Coordinate and oversee teams responsible for receiving, inventorying, assembling, and installing AV equipment.
  • Perform construction labor, installation, troubleshooting, and repair duties.
  • Direct actions of others and complete installations independently when needed.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and direct installation teams, including travel arrangements.
  • Train and oversee level one and level two technicians, assisting their certification attainment.
  • Handle physical tasks such as moving heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs.) and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment installations.
  • Install and terminate cables with appropriate connectors.
  • Perform drilling in various materials for installing AV equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 2-4 years of AV team leadership and management experience.
  • CTS-I certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
  • Strong communication skills and team management experience.
  • Proficiency with office software (Google, Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and industrial tools.
  • Quick learner with decision-making skills under tight timelines.
  • Valid driver’s license with minimal citations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage AV technician teams on job sites.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodations.
  • Maintain relationships with customer contacts.
Working Conditions

Varies from air-conditioned environments to outdoor construction sites, sometimes in extreme weather conditions, and at heights.
