Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Audio Manager to maintain and operate audio infrastructure for multiple broadcast and studio spaces within LAITS Studio. You will manage live events, preproduction planning, and post-production mixing as needed, ensuring reliable audio for productions across five broadcast studios, two audio studios, and several venues.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional audio experience.
  • 2 years in audio studios/broadcast environments.
  • Strong knowledge of audio equipment (mixers, mics, speakers).
  • Strong client communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with AoIP technology.
  • Able to lead and train junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee studio and field audio production; lead on productions.
  • Manage client communications: estimates, planning, scheduling, invoicing.
  • Research and maintain audio technology across LAITS studios.
  • Develop and document production workflows and processes.
  • Provide training on audio production to student staff.
  • Maintain studio infrastructure and inventory; troubleshoot issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
