Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation seeks an Attorney-in-Charge to lead Community Justice Connect across Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens. The role oversees program model execution, staff supervision, and collaboration with civil justice partners and government stakeholders.

The incumbent ensures accurate legal information, provides brief advice, and stays current on housing, benefits, immigration, and family law issues. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in the New York State Bar with 3–5 years of experience in NYC civil legal systems navigation.
• 1 year+ supervisory experience preferred; leadership and managerial skills required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil legal training for program volunteers and staff, including developing accessible educational resources.
• Provide brief legal advice to visitors regarding civil areas of law (evictions, government benefits, etc.).
• Ensure program sites meet or exceed goals and coordinate with funders and government officials.
