Job summary

Graphcore seeks a highly experienced Lead Atlassian Cloud Platform Engineer to own and scale the Atlassian Cloud ecosystem across multiple sites. You will enforce governance, implement configuration-as-code, and drive self-service capabilities with API-driven automation.

As the primary platform owner, you will lead the Atlassian team, coordinate with PMs and engineering, and ensure secure, compliant collaboration across organizations. Expect a hands-on, growth-focused role.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience coordinating Atlassian Enterprise Cloud.
• Proven track record as lead or primary Atlassian platform owner.
• Strong automation experience with Jira Automation and REST APIs.
• Experience implementing configuration-as-code for SaaS platforms.
• Experience automating project configuration and enforcing standardisation at scale.
• Understanding of access control based on user identity and automated provisioning.
• Experience integrating Atlassian with Azure AD or similar IdP.
• Familiarity with audit-controlled or governance-heavy environments.
• Experience building secure multi-tenant collaboration environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain multiple Atlassian Cloud sites across sites and environments.
• Serve as the authoritative decision-maker for Atlassian configuration and prevent drift.
• Define governance standards aligned with audit and security needs.
• Establish a configuration-as-code operating model using source control, APIs, and CI/CD.
• Build automated identity and access provisioning with Azure AD coordination.
• Lead automation for project provisioning, workflows, and permissions.
• Develop self-service capabilities to standardise project setup.
• Define Jira and Confluence best-practice configuration patterns.
• Ensure secure separation of internal and third-party environments.
• Conduct RCA on platform/workflow issues and implement preventative improvements.
• Act as the final contact for complex Atlassian issues and provide enterprise-level support.
• Deliver guidance to Project Managers and engineering teams across workflows.
• Collaborate to set up projects/workflows aligned with platform standards.
• Coordinate identity/access integrations and automate administrative processes.
• Grow the Atlassian platform team with clear roles and collaboration methods.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and drive solutions.
