Job summary

Pasco County in Florida seeks an Assistant County Surveyor to lead the Transportation Engineering Department's CIP surveying and mapping projects and supervise a team of survey staff. This role reviews consultant work, supports plat reviews, and ensures compliance with Florida statutes and county codes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Surveying/Geomatics (or an Associate plus extensive experience) and must be a registered Florida PSM with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation with a Surveying/Geomatics degree or equivalent plus experience.
• Licensure as Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) is required.
• Strong knowledge of surveying/mapping practices and county codes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee in-house TED CIP surveying projects and supervise staff.
• Review consultant surveying/mapping proposals and projects.
• Support plat reviews and enforce Florida statutes and county codes.
• Develop/implement policies for SAM/G and ensure quality control.
• Act as County Surveyor in absence and manage project scope and cost.
