From providing boutique technical solutions in support of the DOD Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) mission set to addressing the most critical Cybersecurity threats facing our nation as a prime contractor with the DHS Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a career at Edgesource is an opportunity to do meaningful, interesting, and impactful work.

Position Overview

Our Blue List Senior Assessor position will support the day-to-day execution and coordination of unmanned systems assessments, including aircraft, ground, water, underwater, and supporting systems. This role will serve as a senior member of the assessment team, helping ensure assessments remain organized, on schedule, properly documented, and aligned with statutory and cybersecurity requirements established by the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the Department of War.

The Senior Assessor will function as both a hands-on assessor and a technical program coordinator for the broader assessment team. This individual will oversee daily assessment activities, track priorities and deliverables, coordinate team resources, and help resolve issues that could impact schedules or assessment quality. The position will also provide physical and technical assessment support when additional capacity or expertise is required.

This role is intended for someone who combines technical capability with strong organization, communication, and team leadership skills. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing multiple priorities while remaining capable of performing the underlying assessment work alongside the rest of the team.

This position is onsite in Charlotte, NC and may include limited travel to conferences, events, customer sites, or other company facilities.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day assessment activities across the assessor team.

  • Track assessment schedules, priorities, deliverables, dependencies, and outstanding action items.

  • Help ensure assessments remain on schedule and meet established quality and reporting requirements.

  • Perform hands-on physical and technical assessments of unmanned systems and supporting technologies.

  • Provide additional assessment support during periods of increased workload or complex testing.

  • Review assessment work products for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level assessors.

  • Coordinate internal communication between assessors, technical leadership, program management, and other stakeholders.

  • Track the shipping, receiving, inventory, and movement of systems and equipment used for assessment activities.

  • Maintain awareness of equipment status, assessment readiness, and logistical requirements within the Charlotte facility.

  • Identify risks, schedule impacts, resource constraints, and other issues affecting assessment execution.

  • Support the development and improvement of assessment processes, procedures, checklists, and documentation.

  • Assist with communicating technical findings, assessment status, and program needs to vendors and government stakeholders as required.

  • Support hardware, software, cybersecurity, and physical assessment activities based on program needs and individual technical expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, cybersecurity, systems assessment, testing, technical program management, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience evaluating, testing, troubleshooting, or working with complex hardware and/or software systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical work across multiple people, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Experience tracking tasks, schedules, deliverables, risks, and action items.

  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on technical and physical assessment work in addition to team coordination responsibilities.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent assessment activities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to less experienced team members.

  • Ability to identify problems, establish priorities, and drive tasks through completion in a fast-moving technical environment.
