Job summary

Preferred Materials, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking an Asphalt Paving Foreperson to lead a high-performing paving crew across Florida projects. This hands-on leadership role oversees daily paving operations, promotes safety, and drives productivity while maintaining quality standards.

You will coach crew members, coordinate with plant, trucking, and operations teams, manage schedules, and ensure timely production records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of asphalt paving experience.
• Experience leading field crews in paving, road construction, or heavy civil operations.
• Strong understanding of paving operations, production planning, and equipment utilization.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Ability to read and understand project specifications, schedules, and production requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily asphalt paving operations to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Plan and organize work activities, manpower, equipment, trucking logistics, and material requirements.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Coordinate daily production with plant, trucking, and operations teams for smooth execution.
• Monitor crew performance, equipment utilization, and paving quality to maximize productivity.
• Coach, train, and mentor employees on paving techniques, equipment operation, and safe practices.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety documentation.
