Job summary

The Kearney Companies in Riverview, FL is seeking a Paving Foreman/Operator to lead asphalt paving operations on roadways and parking lots. You will operate CAT, Volvo, and LeeBoy paving machines, ensure correct grade and mat quality, and coordinate with crew members for efficient production.

The ideal candidate has proven paving machine experience, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating asphalt pavers, specifically CAT, Volvo, or LeeBoy.
• Understanding of asphalt paving procedures, materials, and job site standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving machines (CAT, Volvo, LeeBoy) to place asphalt on roads, parking lots, and commercial sites.
• Maintain proper grade, slope, depth, and mat quality during paving operations.
• Coordinate with the screed operator, roller crew, and foreman for consistent production.
• Monitor material flow and adjust controls as needed for smooth placement.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Lead asphalt crew, including task training and supervision of crew members.
• Attend safety toolbox talks, and ensure safety policies are followed on site.
