Job summary

AA Asphalting in Tacoma seeks a motivated foreman with asphalt and concrete crew experience to lead daily operations on our local projects. You will organize crews, plan work scopes, order materials, and ensure quality control in alignment with AA Asphalting standards.

Ideal candidates have a CDL, proven leadership, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining safety and productivity across varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL preferred with a good driving record.
• One year of experience working on an asphalt and/or concrete crew.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude in math.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to travel to various worksites.
• Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Organizes work to get the most productivity out of the crew by instructing employees where to go, what to do, and what equipment and/or materials will be needed.
• Participates in pre-project and pre-task planning activities and relays planning details to field crew.
• Checks plants and orders correct amount of materials daily for asphalt patching and coordinates with Operations Assistant for concrete patching.
• Supervises, oversees and trains crew to ensure work is performed to AA's highest quality standards and checks work for quality.
• Performs all aspects of the job, including general laboring and operating equipment; trains others in all aspects of the job.
• Solves problems as they arise and contacts Superintendent for assistance if unable to resolve the problem.
• Completes all related electronic paperwork via Field Services/Dynamics and Workforce Go on time.
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and PPE; follows preventative safety measures.
