Job summary

ZipStaff is seeking a Lead AS400 / WebSphere EDI Developer to own the AS400 core and EDI integrations at a major port and terminal operator in Newark, NJ. This is a hands-on lead role, not a coordinator position, requiring on-site presence.

You will reverse-engineer RPG/CL, maintain WebSphere MQ/Integration Bus/B2B for EDI with shipping lines, customs, rail and trucking, and design REST/SOAP APIs and database connectors from the AS400 to modern web tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on IBM i / AS400 development with RPG and CL.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ, Integration Bus or B2B.
• EDI mapping and translation for maritime/logistics sets (210, 214, 301, 310, 322, 850/856).
• DB2 on AS400 expertise.
• Ability to troubleshoot EDI transmissions, spool and batch jobs.
• REST or SOAP API design and database connectors.
• On-site work in Newark, NJ; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer RPG/CL programs and DB2 tables to map rules and workflows.
• Maintain IBM WebSphere MQ/IB/ B2B for automated EDI.
• Develop maps for EDI sets: 210, 214, 301, 310, 322, 850/856.
• Troubleshoot EDI transmissions, spool and batch jobs; apply fixes.
• Design REST/SOAP APIs and connectors from AS400 to web tools.
• Document undocumented business logic and WebSphere routing paths.
