Job summary

Harmons in Draper, KY is seeking an Artisan Baker to maintain quality and production of fresh baked breads and train other bakers. You will mix, shape, score, and bake bread, manage inventory, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced bakery.

The role requires at least one year of baking experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong reading, math, and communication skills to follow recipes and scale dough while coaching teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of baking experience preferred.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Basic math skills used to scale recipes.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures.
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Bakery provides.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for artisan bread counter.
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all artisan bread products, paying particular attention to ad items.
• Ensures the Bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance.
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers.
• Follows precise recipes and techniques for mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking Harmons’ artisan breads.
• Writes production sheets for other Artisan Bakers.
• Teaches, mentors, and educates Artisan Bakers to help them be successful members of the team.
• Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to artisan bakers regarding their performance and areas of improvement.
• Assists with ordering of product related to artisan breads.
• Communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager.
