Job summary

Anning-Johnson Co in Hayward, CA, seeks an experienced Commercial Construction Foreman specializing in architectural sheet metal. You will oversee installation and maintenance of architectural sheet metal systems on commercial projects, manage crews, monitor safety, quality, and schedules, and coordinate with PMs and architects.

The role requires leadership, strong knowledge of sheet metal systems (roofing, cladding, flashing), and proficiency with AutoCAD/BIM.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in commercial construction, focusing on architectural sheet metal installation and fabrication.
Strong reading of blueprints, shop drawings, and specs for sheet metal projects.
Proven leadership and ability to manage a diverse construction team.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of sheet metal installers and laborers for safe, efficient execution.
Plan, organize, and coordinate architectural sheet metal installation, including procurement, layout, fabrication, and installation.
Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements accurately.
Collaborate with PMs, architects, and stakeholders to build detailed construction schedules and milestones.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality compliance.
Train and mentor junior team members on installation techniques and safety practices.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely material delivery and minimal waste.
Monitor compliance with building codes and project specs; address deviations promptly.
Identify and resolve design conflicts, material shortages, and scheduling issues; inform stakeholders.
