Job summary

Gen Digital Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Principal Engineer, Security Logging & Detection to lead the architectural design, implementation, and evolution of our security telemetry platforms.

You will collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering to build scalable, reliable logging pipelines and enable rapid threat detection and investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/InfoSec/IS or related field or equivalent practical experience
• Extensive experience in Security Engineering, Platform Engineering, Logging and Observability
• Strong understanding of telemetry pipelines, data collection, storage and access patterns
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner and architectural leader for Security Logging & Detection capabilities
• Design, build, and scale logging pipelines across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• Own collection, parsing, normalization, enrichment, routing, retention of security telemetry
• Ensure log data reliability, integrity, and availability for threat detection and investigations
• Drive automation and best practices to improve scalability and platform reliability
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infra and Platform Eng to improve telemetry
