Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Crew Chief-Level Archaeologist for the BLM Southeast Region, based out of our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This on-call role supports fieldwork, reporting, and compliance tasks across New Mexico projects.

You will conduct cultural resource surveys, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with teams, agencies and stakeholders. Travel for short assignments and flexibility outside regular hours are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience meeting Secretary of the Interior standards.
• 1–3 years in cultural resources, environmental planning, surveys and compliance.
• Strong report writing ability and knowledge of Section 106 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Authors technical reports and cultural resource documents with clarity and minimal errors.
• Conduct cultural resources fieldwork, reporting, and mitigation in pre-construction projects.
• Perform data QAQC reviews.
• Assist with fieldwork, monitoring, data collection, inventory, analyses, site forms and report production.
• Carry out pre-field Class I records reviews.
• Stay up-to-date on cultural resources management and Section 106 practices.
