JMT seeks a Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) in San Antonio, TX to lead field operations and manage archaeological projects across Phase I–III. The role emphasizes oversight, report writing, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

The candidate should have a Master’s in anthropology, 5+ years in archaeology (CRM preferred), and leadership experience. Familiarity with NHPA Section 106 and the Texas Antiquities Code is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in anthropology or closely related field.
• Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archeologists.
• 5+ years of experience in archaeology, CRM preferred.
• At least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Familiarity with Section 106 of NHPA and Antiquities Code of Texas.

Responsabilités

• Lead fieldwork for Phase I–III projects and manage small to medium projects.
• Write portions of archaeological reports under supervision.
• Oversee Phase I–III work in Texas and surrounding states.
• Review methodologies and findings; ensure QA standards.
• Assist in proposals, budgets, and marketing materials.
• Coordinate with field, lab, and office staff to meet schedule and quality.
