WSP in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Project Archaeologist to lead heritage and cultural resource projects within our Cultural Resources Management Team. You will direct field teams on archaeological surveys and excavations, and coordinate with clients, landowners, contractors, and tribal monitors to support compliance with state and federal regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree and 3–5 years of Section 106/110 CRM experience, with strong technical writing skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • Requires Master’s degree and 3–5 years of post-education CRM archaeology experience.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory framework for heritage resource management compliance.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead heritage and cultural resource projects.
  • Direct field teams on archaeological surveys and excavations.
  • Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects.
  • Interact with clients, landowners, contractors, and others.
  • Work with tribal monitors and representatives.
  • Help clients comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare and assist with cultural resources reports, data entry, impact assessment, and permitting activities.
  • Perform professional archaeological work and investigations to gain information and plan for preservation and environmental issues.
  • Interact with regulatory and historical preservation agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
  • Remain current in latest archaeological methods, procedures, and techniques.
