Job summary

The Arborist II position with the City of Greeley performs journey-level arboriculture work, including pruning, removals, planting, and tree health care. Lead worker on urban forestry operations, may operate aerial devices and equipment, and ensures jobsite safety with traffic control.

Responsibilities include guiding staff, supporting emergency response, and coordinating with the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department while maintaining records and upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of progressive arboricultural experience.
• ISA Certified Arborist certification.
• CPR/First Aid current certification.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating hand tools, power tools, pruning tools, light trucks, and tractors.
• Experience in horticultural maintenance, planting, and pruning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tree work on city-owned trees including pruning and removal.
• Lead worker coordination and safety on urban forestry operations.
• Operate aerial lift equipment and other machinery as qualified.
• Plan jobsite setup with traffic control and hazard assessment.
• Train and supervise crews; ensure adherence to safety policies.
