Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in New Jersey seeks an Applications Engineer to provide advanced technical support for Utility Automation Grid Optimization and Underground Feeder Reliability products. You will mentor junior engineers, prepare pricing data for quotations, and act as a subject‑matter expert for complex applications and configurations.

In this role you will collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and cross‑functional teams to define product requirements for substation capacitor bank

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• 5+ years in Applications Engineering, Technical Sales, Product Support or related roles.
• Experience in Power System Utility Industry and equipment (MV switchgear, capacitor banks, etc.).
• Willingness to travel up to 25-35%.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for complex customer issues and product applications.
• Mentor and develop Applications Engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate multiple projects to completion within schedules and budgets.
• Serve as primary technical contact for field sales on strategic opportunities and high-value accounts.
• Develop technical documentation and collateral for requirements and product applications.
• Provide pricing analyses and recommendations with Product Management and Sales.
• Support front end of New Product Development with market data and design input.
• Ensure compliance with Hubbell standards and regulatory requirements.
• Represent Hubbell at trade shows and industry events; publish/present technical papers.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovative solutions in product performance and cost efficiency.
