Job summary

Siemens is seeking a leader to manage a team of Applications Engineers supporting MV electrical equipment, including GIS, pad-mounted switchgear, and metal-enclosed switchgear solutions. You will partner with Sales, Business Development, customers, factories, and engineering teams to develop technical proposals, pricing, and solutions that win new business.

You will mentor engineers, oversee the handoff from proposal to execution, and ensure projects transition smoothly.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with MV power distribution equipment (switchgear, transformers, electrical systems).
• Ability to review electrical drawings, specifications, RFQs and develop customer-focused solutions.
• Proven experience leading engineers, coordinating proposal activities, and supporting sales efforts.
• Strong commercial acumen with pricing, bidding, and cost evaluation experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across customers, sales teams, factories, procurement and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Applications Engineers.
• Act as the main engineering contact for Sales and Business Development.
• Review customer RFQs, specifications, and electrical drawings.
• Coordinate and oversee proposal development, pricing, and bid activities.
• Work with Siemens factories to support lead times, pricing, and production planning.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals for customers.
• Coordinate with vendors and procurement to obtain third-party pricing and equipment quotes.
• Support customer meetings, technical presentations, and contract discussions.
• Ensure a smooth handoff from the sales/proposal phase to project execution.
• Train, mentor, and onboard new engineers.
• Track team performance and proposal activity to meet business goals.
