Great American Insurance Group seeks an experienced Application Engineer Leader to coordinate the Application Engineering team and drive the design, build, and deployment of software supporting insurance processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration, advanced programming, and cloud-based solutions, with a focus on performance optimization and scalable architecture across our IT services. This is an on-site senior position in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Generally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in software development and/or application development.
• Typically manages 2 or more reports, mentors staff, and participates in talent decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages, cloud platforms, and modern development frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Coordinates the daily operations of the Application Engineering team, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
• Leads the design, programming, building, and deployment of software applications and systems that support various business and insurance processes.
• Leads integration of the latest technology practices to enhance performance and scalability.
• Leads software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities.
• Reviews the development of technical specifications based on business requirements.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement integration solutions for data flow and interoperability.
• Monitors application performance, identifies issues, and implements improvements for efficiency.
• Provides expert technical support to end-users and team members.
• Fosters a collaborative environment bridging development, operations, and stakeholders.
• Leads strategic planning and execution of process improvements to align initiatives with goals.
• Ensures performance meets business requirements and user expectations.
• Assesses and integrates industry best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
