Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Principal Engineer I, App Release Management to coordinate complex technology releases and ensure high-quality deployments across customer-facing apps and platforms.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Product Management, this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and partners with teams across North America, Toyota Motor Corporation, and global regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field providing strong foundation in technology delivery and software development.
• 10+ years of experience delivering software, managing releases, leading programs or projects across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience supporting application releases or complex technology delivery initiatives across mobile, web, cloud, SaaS, enterprise, or other customer-facing platforms.
• Experience managing end-to-end technology initiatives, releases, programs, or projects including planning, deployment, validation, risk management, stakeholder coordination, production support, and issue resolution.
• SDLC knowledge, Agile methodologies, and release management practices driving quality delivery and operational excellence.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Monday.com or similar platforms for planning, tracking, collaboration, and delivery execution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps (Excel, PowerPoint) and communicating project status to diverse stakeholders.
• A motor vehicle record acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end release execution and coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deployments.
• Align priorities, schedules, dependencies, and release objectives with product, engineering, quality, operations, security, and business teams.
• Identify and mitigate release risks, manage dependencies, track defects, and coordinate resolution to maintain delivery commitments.
• Support mobile app certification activities, testing readiness, change management, and App Store/Google Play submissions for launches.
• Apply Agile delivery practices and release governance to improve delivery predictability and customer satisfaction.
• Develop release readiness assessments, production performance reporting, and stakeholder communications for informed decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives strengthening release governance and delivery lifecycle.
