Job summary

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive architecture, design, delivery and technical excellence across dealer experience platforms. This hands‑on role emphasizes rapid POCs, feasibility validation and pragmatic, code‑driven guidance.

You will lead architecture decisions, collaborate with partners and mentor engineers to raise the bar on quality and delivery across complex, distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• “10+ years” of software engineering on large‑scale distributed systems.
• Hands‑on ability to perform rapid technical assessments and write code.
• Experience with third‑party vendors and integration approaches.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices.
• Proficient with AWS cloud native deployment (ECS, Fargate, IAM, VPC).
• Designing event‑driven architectures for pricing/incentives/credit workflows.
• Observability using Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Front end and data experience for rapid prototypes.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is a bonus.
• Experience in automotive or financial services ecosystems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations (Bedrock) a plus.
• Platform modernization / large‑scale transformations.

Responsibilities

• Lead system design and architecture for distributed platforms.

• Work with engineering and product on solution direction.
• Translate concepts into practical technical approaches.
• Identify risks and tradeoffs early.

• Champion AI assisted engineering tools to boost productivity.
• Mentor engineers on design, code quality and operations.
