Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Senior Manager for Release Management to improve predictability, safety, and credibility of software releases across on-prem and cloud products. The role starts in learning and enablement, observing existing practices, and supporting teams, then evolving into people leadership for release management contributors.

Success is measured by fewer surprises, reduced risk, smoother stabilization, and increased trust, not speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading or coordinating software releases in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles for both on-prem and cloud systems.
• Experience supporting release decisions using objective data rather than subjective status.

Responsibilities

• Observe and support existing release processes across on-prem and cloud products.
• Improve release predictability by identifying systemic risks and recurring failure modes.
• Partner with SEE to define objective release readiness gates.
• Support deployment teams with data, dashboards and evidence for informed decisions.
• Serve as a trusted escalation point for readiness and risk discussions.
• Establish consistent release practices, cadence, and expectations across products.
• Balance customer commitments, technical readiness, and operational risk in releases.
• Facilitate release readiness and stabilization reviews and learning loops.
• Improve transparency into release status and post-release outcomes.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Observability, SecOps, and FinOps on quality and security.
