Job Summary

The Anywhere Real Estate Core Capabilities API Engineering team develops reusable, enterprise capability APIs used by both internal & external product development teams to build and release real estate software rapidly.

We are looking for a Lead API Engineer (individual contributor) with proven experience in developing cloud-native API applications using Node.js. Significant experience in MongoDB, AWS, CI/CD, and test automation is required.

This senior role involves code contribution and requires excellent technical skills, along with strong delivery, collaboration, leadership, communication, and documentation skills. The candidate should be passionate and capable of building positive peer relationships.

Full-stack Experience

Preferred but not required.

1. Craft and deliver flexible, scalable, and resilient software solutions.
2. Ensure solutions align with technical strategy, standards, and methodologies (architecture, design, security, cloud, agile).
3. Perform design and code reviews.
4. Define and demonstrate an automation-first approach for product delivery and operational support.
5. Analyze, design, and validate solutions.
6. Identify opportunities for improvement and lead their implementation.
7. Decompose and refine business requirements with the Product Team.
8. Deliver solutions supporting business needs while meeting satisfaction criteria.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

1. 9+ years of experience in Agile development teams.
2. 5+ years as a Node.js developer working on microservices and RESTful APIs.
3. 5+ years developing cloud-native applications with AWS services.
4. 3+ years in MongoDB development.
5. 3+ years scripting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
6. 3+ years using test automation tools like Cypress.
7. 2+ years with AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
8. Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
9. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
10. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
11. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points To Stand Out

1. 5+ years experience with modern front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
2. Experience ensuring UI/UX design feasibility.
3. Experience translating web and mobile designs into code.
