Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in electronics, microwave systems, RF, mechanical systems, or antenna/servo subsystems.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams in mission-critical environments.
• Diagnose complex field-station or ground-system anomalies and develop corrective actions.
• Experience with acceptance, integration, and system-level testing of large RF/antenna systems.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications link performance and troubleshooting methods.
• Identify obsolescence issues, manage spares, and plan upgrades.
• Excellent written and oral communication for reports and recommendations.
• Willing to obtain NCIC clearance and California Real ID.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a multidisciplinary team of sustaining engineers in software, electronics, microwave, transmitters, and mechanical disciplines.
• Support and enhance DSN ground-based microwave antennas.
• Lead acceptance and integration testing for tracking antennas.
• Oversee spares replenishment and obsolescence replacement activities.
• Identify field-station patterns, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop interim workarounds to minimize operational impact.
• Prioritize and report engineering recommendations and funding needs.
• Analyze telecom link performance and correlate anomalies with ground-system issues.
• Provide training to team members as needed.
