Job summary

Peraton, based in Monrovia, CA, seeks an Antenna Engineering Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary sustainment team covering software, electronics, microwave systems, transmitters, and mechanical subsystems. You will support large DSN ground-based antennas and lead acceptance testing for tracking antennas.

The role requires diagnosing fieldstation or groundsystem anomalies, managing spares and obsolescence, and developing workarounds while driving timely upgrades.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in electronics, microwave systems, RF, mechanical systems, or antenna/servo subsystems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in operations, maintenance, or mission-critical environments.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex fieldstation or groundsystem anomalies and implement corrective actions.
• Experience with acceptance, integration, and system-level testing of large technical systems (antenna or RF systems).
• Strong understanding of telecommunications link performance and related troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a multidisciplinary team of sustaining engineers across software, electronics, microwave systems, transmitters, and mechanical disciplines.
• Support and enhance large, steerable DSN ground-based microwave antennas.
• Lead acceptance and integration testing for a network of tracking antennas.
• Oversee spares replenishment and manage obsolescence replacement activities.
• Identify fieldstation issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop interim workarounds to minimize operational impact during sustaining upgrades.
• Prioritize and report engineering recommendations and advocate for funding.
• Analyze link performance and correlate anomalies with groundsystem issues.
• Provide training to team members as needed.
