Job summary

The City of Seabrook seeks an experienced Animal Control Supervisor to lead the Animal Services Division. You will plan, supervise, and participate in enforcement, shelter operations, public health protection, and welfare services to protect public safety and humane animal care.

Reporting to the Police Lieutenant, you will oversee officers, shelter staff, and volunteers, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering community partnerships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Animal Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Veterinary Technology, or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in animal control, shelter operations, code enforcement, law enforcement, or veterinary services.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
• Texas Basic Animal Control Officer Certification, TACA Advanced, TACA Administrative, Texas Certified Euthanasia Technician, FEMA IC-100/200/IS-700/IS-800.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily operations of the Animal Services Division.
• Supervise and train officers, shelter staff, volunteers, and other personnel.
• Assist with division budget and monitor expenditures.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Ensure compliance with laws, safety standards, and regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve operations and partnerships.
• Oversee investigations, reports, and court filings as required.
• Supervise shelter operations including intake, adoption, foster, and euthanasia.
• Coordinate veterinary services and shelter maintenance.
• Engage the community through public education and outreach.
