Job summary

The City of Seabrook, TX seeks an experienced Animal Control Supervisor to lead the Animal Services Division. The role plans, coordinates, supervises, and participates in all aspects of animal control enforcement, shelter operations, public health protection, and animal welfare services.

Reporting to the Police Lieutenant, the Animal Control Supervisor oversees Animal Control Officers, shelter personnel, and volunteers while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree preferred.
• Five years of progressive experience in animal control, shelters, code enforcement, law enforcement, or veterinary services.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily Animal Services Division operations.
• Supervise, mentor, schedule, train, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
• Develop division budgets, policies, and SOPs; ensure compliance with laws.
• Oversee animal control investigations, shelter intake, adoptions, and euthanasia decisions.
• Coordinate veterinary services and shelter maintenance; maintain records.
• Engage with partners and public through education and outreach.
