Job summary

The City of Corpus Christi seeks an Animal Care Officer Lead to supervise field operations for Animal Care Services (ACS). You will provide leadership and training to staff, delegating tasks and coordinating with the ACS Field Supervisor.

The role includes on-call rotation for overnight issues and ensuring compliance with local animal welfare standards. Key duties include responding to animal calls, humane capture and transport, detailed reporting, and maintaining equipment and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Responding to calls for services concerning animals domestic and wildlife.
• Proactively patrol city enforcing the city’s ordinances, issuing warnings and/or citations.
• Safely and humanely captures and transports animals including but not limited to those that are stray, sick, injured or potentially dangerous.
• Writes detailed reports of actions taken on each call worked and input information into Chameleon.
• Provides front line leadership to assigned staff from multiple divisions under direction of Animal Care Services (ACS) Supervisor.
