Job summary

Scheurer Animal Resource Center in Cleveland is seeking a Senior Animal Technician. In this role, you will provide day-to-day care for research animals, ensuring their health and well-being according to established protocols. This position includes supervising technicians during weekends and documenting any health-related issues.

The ideal candidate should have experience in animal husbandry and a high school education. AALAS certification is preferred. You will work with various animal species, adhering to strict compliance with welfare regulations.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of related experience in a laboratory animal facility.
• Ability to oversee entry and midlevel employees.
• Must demonstrate compliance with animal care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water animals, observe for health-related problems.
• Inspect animals daily and report abnormalities.
• Assist in handling and administering medication to animals.
