Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Staff Android Engineer for the Android Platform to drive scalable architecture and improve developer productivity. The role is remote within the United States and focuses on building health, performance, and observability foundations across the Android app ecosystem.

You will mentor senior engineers, lead platform initiatives, and champion AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery while maintaining platform health and reliability across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with 3+ years building Android apps.
• Experience setting technical direction in a large Android codebase used by multiple teams.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Android lifecycle, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Android platform/infrastructure work (libraries, experiments, logging, navigation).
• Proven impact on app reliability, performance, or developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical decisions to scale Android Platform for 100M+ DAUs.
• Drive Developer Experience to accelerate build/test cycles.
• Architect Android Client Health and Observability foundations.
