Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Android Engineer for the Android Platform team. You will set technical direction, lead cross-team initiatives, and own core architecture focusing on health, developer experience, and modern Android patterns.

You’ll mentor senior engineers, drive architectural reviews, and shape multi-quarter roadmaps while staying hands-on through design, implementation, and rollout.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software development experience, 3+ years building Android applications.
• Experience setting technical direction and delivering platform capabilities in a large Android codebase.
• Deep expertise in Kotlin, Android lifecycle and concurrency, and modern Android technologies.
• Strong background in Android platform/infrastructure work (libraries, experiments, logging, networking).
• Excellent systems thinking, measurable improvements in app reliability or developer productivity.
• Ability to influence without authority and communicate technical strategy clearly.
• Experience applying AI to engineering workflows with measurable benefits.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical decisions to scale Reddit's Android Platform for 100M+ DAUs.
• Drive Developer Experience to accelerate build/test cycles and release safety.
• Architect Client Health and Observability foundations (events, traces, dashboards).
• Champion AI-enhanced developer workflows and tooling.
• Provide mentorship and elevate engineering standards through reviews and guidance.
