Future is hiring a remote Lead Android Engineer to set the technical direction for our Android products and lead the Android team across phone and Wear OS.

You’ll own architecture for a multi-module Kotlin codebase, deliver onboarding, coaching messaging, scheduling, and health-data integration while collaborating with product, design, backend, and iOS engineers.

This hands-on role requires 8+ years of Android experience, strong Kotlin expertise, and a remote-friendly stance in the continental US.

Build polished, accessible interfaces with Jetpack Compose and Future’s design system.* Android Architecture: Set direction for a multi-module Kotlin codebase built around Compose, coroutines and flows, dependency injection, and unidirectional state. Improve module boundaries, data ownership, navigation, and offline behavior as the product grows.* Connected Health and Wearables: Guide the systems that connect Future with Wear OS, Health Connect, heart-rate data, sensors, and the Android device lifecycle. Protect member data and design for intermittent connectivity.* Reliability and Performance: Own app startup, responsiveness, media playback, foreground services, background work, real-time calls, and data synchronization. Use crash, performance, and release telemetry to find problems before members encounter them.* Engineering Excellence: Set expectations for code quality, testing, observability, and maintainability.
