Job summary

Future is hiring a remote Lead Android Engineer to set the technical direction for our Android products and lead the Android team across phone and Wear OS.

You’ll own architecture for a multi-module Kotlin codebase, deliver onboarding, coaching messaging, scheduling, and health-data integration while collaborating with product, design, backend, and iOS engineers.

This hands-on role requires 8+ years of Android experience, strong Kotlin expertise, and a remote-friendly stance in the continental US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Android engineering experience.
• Strong Kotlin knowledge with Jetpack Compose, coroutines and Android lifecycle.
• Led architecture work in modular Android codebases.
• Ship and support apps through Google Play with performance focus.
• Extensive testing across unit, integration, UI and end-to-end layers.
• Ability to guide technical decisions and collaborate with product and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead Android implementation for member experiences linking coaches and plans.
• Define architecture for a multi-module Kotlin codebase using Compose and DI.
• Guide Wear OS integration, health data connectivity and device lifecycle.
• Own app startup, performance, background work, and data synchronization.
• Maintain quality with testing, telemetry, and release processes.
• Lead the Android team through planning, review, and delivery.
