Job summary

Verizon seeks a Lead Android Developer to own Android app development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. You will drive quality, performance, and responsiveness across consumer mobile apps, leveraging maps/location features and modern architecture. Strong debugging, communication, and Agile collaboration are essential as you mentor others and shape engineering decisions.

Hybrid role based in Alpharetta, GA with client exposure and cross-functional teamwork across product, UX, and backend partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Android app development experience.
• Experience with location features (Maps APIs).
• Proficiency with Gradle, Android Studio, Java, Kotlin.
• Knowledge of MVC, MVVM and SOLID OO design principles.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Consumer mobile app development experience and REST-based services.
• Strong communication skills and familiarity with Agile SDLC.

Job Description:

• 10+ yearsof experience in developing Android App(s) in Play Store, Jetpack Compose, Compose UI.
• Experience working with Location related feature/s (google maps, here maps, mapbox).
• Experience with Gradle, Android Studio, JAVA, Kotlin.
• Knowledge of MVC, MVVP and Viper design patterns, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) through SOLID principles and development best practices.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Consumer mobile application development experience.
• A background in building mobile applications that utilize web-services (either REST-based, JSON, Thrift or other services).
• Good knowledge on material design.
• Experience and thorough understanding of Agile Software Development.
• Proficiency in the use of JIRA/Confluence in product development.
• Experience in source control tools like Git.
• Good knowledge of the continuous deployment and integration process.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
