Job summary

Speechify is seeking an Android Team Lead for its Fort Collins, CO-based core product. This remote-friendly role combines hands-on coding with leadership to own major features end-to-end, from design through release, while guiding the team and maintaining reliability metrics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Android experience, deep Kotlin knowledge (coroutines, flow), and a proven track record of delivering high-quality Android apps with strong testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android software engineering with hands-on leadership.
• Strong Kotlin expertise including coroutines and flows.
• Experience with MVVM, Dagger 2, and Clean Architecture.
• Proven ability to own features end-to-end and mentor juniors.
• Solid testing mindset with JUnit and automated checks.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end-to-end from design to release with design team.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and drive decisions when needed.
• Ensure code is maintainable, well-documented, and reusable.
• Lead planning and help scope work for the team.
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Engineering early in discussions.
• Handle critical issues and deliver nightly builds for QA.
