Speechify is seeking an experienced Android Team Lead to own core product areas and guide a distributed engineering team. This is a hands-on role requiring coding, code reviews, and end-to-end feature ownership.

You will drive reliability, review PRs, unblock the team, and ensure the team’s work aligns with product and design goals. The role is remote within the United States, with a competitive package including bonus and stock.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Strong Kotlin and Android architecture experience.
• Experience shipping long-running background tasks and services.
• Proven ability to drive teams and influence design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design through release.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and drive decisions when needed.
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Engineering early.
• Lead planning and ensure efficient code reviews.
• Ensure automated checks and streamlined nightly builds.
