Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising cooks and aides, training new staff, maintaining food safety standards, and monitoring temperatures and sanitation. This role requires a strong leader with 2+ years of cooking and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or institutional food service.
• Previous supervisory or lead cook experience strongly preferred.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets a plus.
• Strong leadership, time management and communication skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control guidelines and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and supervise meals according to menus and physician-ordered diets.
• Ensure meals are cooked and served safely and timely.
• Lead dietary staff during shifts and assign tasks.
• Train new dietary staff in safety and procedures.
• Monitor temperatures, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist with inventory and FIFO practices.
