Job summary

The City of Austin's Airport is seeking an Airport Field Maintenance Supervisor to oversee Landside ground maintenance staff and ensure safe, compliant operations at AUS. This role supervises crews, coordinates maintenance of buildings and systems, and manages sub-contractors while supporting budgeting and procedures.

You will train staff, review blueprints, pull permits, track licensing, and help maintain inventory, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-growing airport environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduation plus five years of related experience.
• Two of those years must be in a lead or supervisory role.
• Current Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain Class B within 120 days.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspects building and infrastructure for compliance with codes, specifications, and safety ordinances.
• Oversees staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of systems and buildings.
• Oversees and monitors sub-contractors including contract management.
• Assists in developing the operating budget for the division.
• Develops and revises operating procedures.
• Trains personnel in performance of job tasks.
• Reads profiles and blueprints. Pulls permits.
• Tracks staff licensing and certifications ensuring they remain active.
• Assists in the maintenance of parts inventory.
• Facilitates and oversees the random drug testing of staff.
