Job summary

Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS) has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic III to join our team at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves leading a team in aircraft maintenance, inspections, and both scheduled and unscheduled work on fighter jets.

The candidate will apply extensive technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems, provide guidance to junior technicians, and ensure accurate logbook entries and adherence to safety and quality standards on site at

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of F-18E/F Military Service Aircraft Maintenance Program highly desirable.
• Active DOW Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining fighter jet aircraft at the organizational, intermediate or depot level.
• Five or more years of experience maintaining F-18E/F aircraft is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
• Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
• Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
• Provides technical guidance to lower level technicians throughout modifications and maintenance efforts.
• Ensures documentation in aircraft logs and records is accurate and complete.
• Prioritizes workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules.
• Provides technical support to engineers and customers as needed.
