Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the weekend shift in Grand Junction, CO. The role leads a team of technicians to deliver high-quality work on aircraft during a Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm schedule with an 11.11% shift differential and a three-day workweek.

Typical duties include supervising daily tasks, mentoring staff, coordinating project flow, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations while maintaining a safety-focused, customer-service oriented

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and A&P license required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program-specific airframes.
• Must perform under minimal supervision and lead small teams.
• FAA guidelines compliance and FAA paperwork are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete jobs and manage day-to-day tasks.
• Implement turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time.
• Train and mentor technicians on projects.
• Supervise team in daily workload and project flow.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on aircraft.
• Communicate clearly in English.
• Direct the work flow of multiple projects.
• Maintain FAA paperwork and compliance.
