Job summary

Airbus ExO Autonomy SAS is seeking a Lead AI, Video Analytics and Aircraft Integration Engineer to develop vision-based solutions for a demonstrator program in Toulouse. You will own the architecture for moving prototypes to aircraft, integrate cameras and compute, and lead new sensor and algorithm introductions while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role involves coordinating with European teams, defining validation processes, and shepherding code quality, CI, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping ML/vision systems to production.
• Experience with edge/embedded hardware deployments.
• Strong Python, PyTorch, ONNX and TensorRT.
• Practical experience with detection, tracking and multi-camera geometry.
• Experience building evaluation pipelines: datasets, labelling, metrics, regression tests.
• Comfortable with Linux and Docker; write clean, tested code.
• Able to explain technical trade-offs to non-specialists.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge platforms, GStreamer, RTSP pipelines.
• Familiarity with 3D reconstruction or synthetic data for testing.
• Background in regulated/safety-critical domains (aerospace, etc.) and DO-178C/DO-254.
• Experience with privacy-preserving video analytics.
• Experience with sensor fusion or non-RGB sensors.
• Curious, rigorous, and well-documented work.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture to move the prototype from lab to aircraft: embedded/edge inference and deployable runtime.
• Integrate cameras and on-board compute, interfaces with aircraft systems.
• Build validation: datasets, metrics and calibration for target installation.
• Lead new algorithms and sensors, including multi-sensor fusion.
• Set engineering standards: testing, reproducibility, model versioning, CI; review junior engineer.
• Coordinate with certification, safety and privacy stakeholders for aviation/GDPR.
• Build and maintain annotated datasets: labeling, quality checks, train/validation splits.
• Train, fine-tune and evaluate models; report metrics.
• Implement and test new algorithms from literature in Python codebase.
• Write unit and regression tests; maintain documentation.
• Assist pipeline integration on target hardware; diagnose video input and camera setup issues.
• Evaluate new sensors; record data and write integration prototypes.
