Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is looking for a Lead AI Solutions Systems Engineer to join Airbus Digital.

The role can be based in Herndon, VA or other US sites and focuses on defining technical strategy for AI initiatives, prototyping PoCs, and guiding production deployments. You will design scalable AI architectures, establish ML quality metrics, and collaborate with European and global teams to ensure robust, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in AI/CS or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years in advanced analytics and production AI systems.
• Proven leadership in production-grade architectures.
• Experience with Generative/Agentic AI and PoCs.
• Experience across Corporate and Operations functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy for AI initiatives and PoCs.
• Define validation metrics: ML quality, latency, drift, safety.
• Translate business problems into technical specs.
• Prototype PoCs and establish sandboxes with partners.
• Coordinate with European teams on standards.
• Support migration to Gemini Enterprise and no-code agents.
• Lead and codify engineering practices across team.
