Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Systems Engineer to join the AI Transformation and Experience team, contributing to production-grade AI software across enterprise and government programs. This hands-on role emphasizes building scalable systems, APIs, infrastructure, security, and observability while guiding junior engineers.

You will design, build, test, deploy, and continuously improve software with AI/ML components, collaborating with skilled engineers to deliver meaningful government services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production AI/ML systems.
• Strong fundamentals in API design, testing, and secure development.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop advanced AI software applications with scalability and enterprise integration.
• Own production software from exploration through deployment, troubleshooting and evolution.
• Write high-quality code and contribute to APIs, services, tests, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Build AI-enabled applications that integrate models, data, cloud services, and existing systems.
• Apply engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security and performance optimization.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and collaborative problem solving.
