Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a senior software engineer to design and implement the agentic AI foundation for database engineering and operations. You will own full-stack development, memory graphs, and evaluation infrastructure in production.

The role requires 10+ years of experience with distributed databases or multi-tenant SaaS architectures, strong Python/Java, and a proven track record shipping at scale. Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI-driven workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and shipping full-stack, full-lifecycle agentic AI systems in production – LLM orchestration, tool and MCP integration, retrieval and knowledge grounding, and evaluation.
• Strong programming in Python and Java in a Unix/Linux environment; solid grasp of distributed systems.
• Judgment about what makes agents reliable at scale: grounding, evaluation, and guardrails against failure modes that cause incidents.
• Familiarity with modern data and agent stack: tracing/experiment tracking (MLflow), workflow orchestration (Airflow), distributed query engines (Trino), knowledge graphs, gateways across frontier models.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and hands-on implementation of the agentic AI foundation for database engineering and operations: full-stack, full-life-cycle agentic engineering and workflow automation.
• Build agentic memory and knowledge graphs that evolve with the database, including runbooks and query templates.
• Develop closed-loop evaluation infrastructure with tracing, replay, and regression checks.
• Advance production agent from workflow-shaped to agent-shaped with a dynamic planner and tool integration beyond MCP.
• Ensure production readiness across platform, identity, and integration layers for high-velocity incidents, with accurate root-cause analysis.
