Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Lead AI Solutions Architect to provide technical direction for complex AI platforms, APIs, and data workflows that enable mission-ready solutions. The role sits within the AI Enablement group of Mission Computing and requires coordinating with platform teams, mission users, security stakeholders, and senior leaders.

You will lead cross-functional engagements, define architectures, evaluate risks, and promote reusable AI patterns to scale impact across programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years related experience with degrees or equivalent
• Extensive experience in applied AI, AI/ML workflows, and software engineering
• Experience leading functional teams or complex projects without formal people management authority
• Ability to translate ambiguous needs into executable AI solution architectures and reusable services
• Ability to work independently and influence senior leadership on AI solutions
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance within one year

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and solution-architecture engagements for complex mission needs
• Develop and lead solution strategies integrating AI apps, data sources, and secure environments
• Direct technical evaluations and risk assessments for practical AI approaches
• Lead functional teams and technical workstreams across programs
• Establish reusable AI workflows, patterns, and starter kits for scalable adoption
• Mentor stakeholders and provide architecture reviews and knowledge transfer
