Job summary

Target seeks a Lead Engineer on the Security Architecture team to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure secure design across IT systems. You will identify risk, develop mitigations, and embed security controls into architectures for cloud and on‑prem environments.

The role requires strong communication, deep expertise in security frameworks, and hands-on experience with security tooling, threat modeling, and secure coding guidance. Flexible remote/hybrid arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree OR equivalent experience
• 7+ years in technology with cybersecurity focus
• Expertise in containerization technologies
• Solid understanding of genAI/ML and security implications
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC 27001)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system designers to integrate security requirements into IT designs
• Develop security architecture documentation and diagrams
• Design and implement security controls and reference architectures
• Provide guidance on secure coding practices
• Perform full-stack architecture reviews for products and platforms
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure secure deployment in cloud and on-prem environments
