Target seeks a Principal Engineer - AI Security to partner with AI platform, product and engineering teams to strengthen the security of AI systems across the lifecycle. You will identify risks, validate controls, and drive improvements in architecture, threat modeling, and testing.

This role demands deep expertise in AI/ML security, prompt injection defenses, and secure deployment patterns. You will communicate across teams and influence security decisions in cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages and platforms.
• Extensive cybersecurity knowledge across multiple domains.
• Strong background in AI/ML security and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI platform, product, and engineering teams to evaluate security postures of AI systems.
• Assess AI architectures to identify risks, vulnerabilities and design flaws.
• Develop threat models, attack simulations, and validation strategies for AI systems.
• Evaluate security controls and mitigations protecting AI apps and platforms.
• Provide guidance on secure deployment patterns for AI workloads in cloud/hybrid environments.
