Job summary

Quince seeks a Principal Engineer to design and build a new supply chain planning platform with multi-vendor, multi-market scope. You will translate ML models into scalable production systems, create AI-assisted interfaces, and drive observability and safety in operations.

You’ll lead a small, elite team, partner with science and business stakeholders, and shape the technical direction for forecasting, optimization, and logistics tooling at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with data-intensive or ML-focused production systems.
• Demonstrated 0-to-1 platform ownership from architecture to production.
• Strong ML/AI platform engineering: pipelines, serving, monitoring, drift detection.
• AI-native engineering practices in code generation, testing, and AI-assisted tooling.
• Forecasting and optimization literacy with scientists as peers.
• Full-stack fundamentals: data systems, API design, orchestration, operations.
• Excellent communication with business and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build a proprietary supply chain planning platform from the ground up.
• Own the full model pipeline lifecycle: feature engineering, forecasting framework, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.
• Integrate with vendor, order, and inventory platforms to centralize planning.
• Set AI standards: AI copilots, AI tests, data exploration with governance.
• Architect AI-enabled capabilities: observability, natural-language interfaces, agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with science team on infrastructure for vector stores and evaluation harnesses.
• Develop operator tooling: dashboards, overrides, audit trails, and alerts.
