Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Game Designer to own the design vision for AI-powered interactivity within the Ring app and connected devices. You will partner with product managers, engineers, and scientists to conceive and ship new ways for customers to interact with Ring, making the app and devices easier, smarter, and more delightful to use every day.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Games Industry experience across development, release, or Live Ops.
• Experience with a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.
• Experience owning and leading significant projects from concept to deployment.
• Experience in process design and documentation.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams with demonstrable results.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working directly with engineering and science teams on feature development and trade-off decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, design, and delivery of innovative AI-powered interactive experiences within the Ring app and connected device ecosystem.
• Design core engagement loops, onboarding journeys, and habit-forming interaction patterns for Ring products.
• Collaborate with applied science and engineering teams to integrate player-facing AI features into the product experience.
• Lead design sprints, prototype reviews, and rapid iteration cycles; use qualitative research and quantitative signals to validate and refine experiences.
• Develop high-quality design documentation serving as the source of truth for cross-functional teams.
• Create buy-in for the design vision internally and with partner organizations across product, engineering, marketing, and operations.
• Anticipate bottlenecks and trade-offs between user experience and technical constraints; keep complex initiatives on track.
• Proactively identify and resolve blockers that may impair meeting vision, schedule, or quality goals.
• Mentor and elevate design craft across the team; establish best practices for AI-driven interactive design at Amazon.
